This Privacy Policy explains how Hotel Exotic Plaza (“we”, “us”, “our”), a hospitality business located in Douala, Cameroon, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website, our guest mobile app, our WhatsApp services, and the services we offer (hotel rooms, events, dining, spa, gym, and car rental). By using our services, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your name, phone number, email address, and preferred language. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier from Google.
Booking and transaction information. The rooms, events, gym memberships, spa appointments, meals, and car rentals you reserve or buy, together with payment details processed by our payment partners. We do not store your full Mobile Money or bank card credentials.
Communications. Messages you send us through WhatsApp, email, or the app, and our replies.
Usage and device information. Basic technical data such as app or browser type, pages viewed, and general activity, used to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account and membership; to process and confirm your bookings, orders, payments, and check-ins; to send confirmations, receipts, reminders, and support messages by WhatsApp, email, or SMS; to provide customer service; to operate, secure, and improve our services; and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. Google sign-in and Google user data
If you choose “Continue with Google”, we use the information Google provides (your name, email address, profile picture, and account identifier) solely to create and secure your account and to sign you in. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. How we share your information
We share personal information only as needed to provide our services: with payment processors (for example Maviance eNkap and SmobilPay) to collect Mobile Money and card payments; with messaging providers to deliver WhatsApp, email, and SMS notifications and receipts; with service providers who host and operate our systems on our behalf under confidentiality obligations; and with authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the services, and thereafter as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, as described below.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access, update, or correct your account information in the app, or by contacting us. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, by emailing reservations@exoticplaza.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention requirements.
8. Cookies and local storage
Our website and app use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
